ABOUT THE LOFT OF BEAUTY
-
We have two locations in Minnesota. Our Edina studio is at 4420 Valley View Rd, Suite 405, Edina, MN 55424 — just off France Avenue with free private parking. Our Delano studio is at 216 River St N, Delano, MN 55328, in the heart of downtown with free street parking right out front.
-
Edina is private and intimate — separate, one-on-one service rooms designed for quiet. Delano is open-concept and social — perfect if you want to bring a friend or enjoy a more relaxed, music-forward vibe. Both locations offer the same services, the same products, and the same provider training standards.
-
We specialize in three things and do them exceptionally well: lash services (eyelash extensions, lash lifts, lash tints), brow services (brow lamination, brow tinting, brow staining, brow waxing), and Bare + Bronzed custom spray tans. We also offer bridal packages and retail products for at-home care.
-
The Loft of Beauty is solely owned by Brooke Hatlestad, who has more than 11 years of experience in the lash, brow, and beauty industry. She started her first lash business in high school, opened The Loft of Beauty in Edina in June 2020, and expanded to a second location in Delano in September 2025.
-
Three things set us apart. First, we are not a franchise — we control our own products, techniques, and training, so we can customize everything and evolve as the industry does. Second, every provider completes an apprenticeship of up to 9 months before serving clients at full price, while Minnesota only requires 38 hours of training to be licensed for lashes. Third, we personalize every single service — from lash mapping to spray tan solution — to each individual client. We don't do one-size-fits-all. We do one-size-fits-you.
-
We are appointment-only. This ensures every client receives the full time and attention they deserve in a calm, unhurried setting. Same-day appointments are sometimes available — text us at (612) 513-6212 to check.
Frequently Asked Questions
LASH EXTENSIONS
-
With proper care and regular fills every 2 to 3 weeks, lash extensions can last indefinitely. Each individual extension lasts the length of your natural lash growth cycle — typically 4 to 6 weeks. How well your extensions hold depends on your natural oil production, the products you use, activities like swimming and saunas, and how closely you follow aftercare.
-
Classic lashes apply one extension to one natural lash for a natural, defined look. Mixed lashes blend classic and volume techniques for a wispy, textured look — this is our most popular set. Volume lashes use a handmade fan of several ultra-light extensions per natural lash for a fuller, fluffier look. Mega volume uses the most extensions per fan for the fullest, most dramatic result. Brooke is among the first technicians in Minnesota certified in mega volume.
-
Most clients book fills every 2 to 3 weeks. Lighter sets may need fills slightly more often because there are fewer extensions to begin with, while fuller sets can sometimes stretch a little longer. Your provider will help you find the right rhythm for your lashes and lifestyle.
-
Not when they are applied correctly. Damage happens when extensions are too heavy for the natural lash, when lashes are glued together, or when they are applied by an undertrained technician. Every provider at The Loft of Beauty completes an apprenticeship of up to 9 months, we make our own lightweight fans by hand, and we never use pre-made cluster lashes. Proper application protects the health of your natural lashes.
-
A full set takes between 60 minutes and 3 hours depending on the type of set. Fills typically take 30 to 75 minutes. We'll let you know what to expect when you book.
-
Only a water-soluble, extension-safe mascara. Regular mascara breaks down the lash adhesive and shortens the life of your extensions. We carry an extension-safe mascara in our shop if you want a little extra drama between fills.
-
Come with clean lashes — no makeup or oils on or around your eyes. Avoid caffeine before your appointment, as it can cause fluttering that makes application harder. If you wear contacts, consider wearing your glasses instead, and complete any wet activities like showering beforehand.
-
Book our New Client Fill. This gives your provider time to assess what you currently have and bring your lashes up to The Loft of Beauty's standard using our techniques and products.
-
Avoid water, steam, and saunas for the first 24 hours. Never pick or pull at your extensions. Cleanse them every 1 to 2 days with an oil-free lash cleanser, brush them daily with a clean spoolie, and avoid oil-based products around your eyes. Good aftercare is the single biggest factor in retention.
-
Come in for a professional removal. We use a gentle remover that dissolves the adhesive without harming your natural lashes. Never try to remove extensions at home — pulling them off causes lash damage.
LASH LIFTS & TINTS
-
A lash lift is a perming treatment for your natural lashes that gives them a lifted, curled, longer-looking appearance. It's a great option for clients who want a low-maintenance enhancement without extensions. Results typically last 6 to 8 weeks.
-
A lash tint is a gentle, semi-permanent dye applied to your natural lashes to darken them. It's perfect for a soft, no-mascara look. Tints typically last 4 to 6 weeks.
-
Yes. We offer a combined Lash Lift & Tint service, which is the most popular way to book these two treatments together for a complete natural-lash enhancement.
-
A Korean lash lift — sometimes called a glueless lash lift — is an advanced lash lifting technique that gently lifts and curls your natural lashes from root to tip. Instead of traditional lash lift glue, it uses a nourishing, cysteamine-based formula to relax and reshape the lash. The result is a soft, defined, natural-looking curl that lasts 6 to 8 weeks. It's a wonderful low-maintenance option for clients who want their natural lashes enhanced without extensions or mascara.
-
Both lift and curl your natural lashes, but the technique and the formula are different. A traditional lash lift secures the lashes with a glue and processes the lower portion of the lash. A Korean lash lift is glueless and uses a gentler, nourishing cysteamine formula that's worked through the lash root to tip — which gives a softer, more natural-looking lift and more even results. Because the formula is gentler, the Korean method is especially good for natural lash health. It also tends to work better on stubborn, coarse, or downward-growing lashes that don't always respond well to a traditional lift.
-
It depends on your natural lashes and the look you want, and your provider will help you decide at your appointment. As a general guide: a Korean lash lift is the best choice if you have stubborn, coarse, or downward-growing lashes, or if you want the most natural, soft, lifted result with gentle, nourishing care. A traditional lash lift is still a great option and may be recommended depending on your lashes. Either way, every lash lift at The Loft of Beauty is fully customized to you — there's no one-size-fits-all.
-
Yes — and customization is what makes the difference between an okay lift and a beautiful one. Before your service, your provider selects a silicone shield (also called a rod) based on your natural lash length and the amount of lift or curl you want. A smaller shield creates more curl, while a larger shield creates a softer, more lifted look. Your provider also chooses the formula and processing approach for your individual lashes. This is why two clients can get a lash lift in the same chair and walk out with results tailored to each of them.
-
For many clients, yes. Because the Korean method uses a gentle, nourishing cysteamine formula and lifts the lash evenly from root to tip, it tends to produce a soft, natural curl rather than a harsh bend. It's also one of the gentlest options for the long-term health of your natural lashes. If your goal is a "my lashes but better" look with minimal upkeep, a Korean lash lift is an excellent choice. Your provider will confirm it's the right fit for your lashes at your appointment.
-
If you're a new lash lift client, yes — we ask that you complete a quick patch test at least 72 hours before your first service to make sure your skin is comfortable with the formula. If you've previously been patch tested for a lash lift or brow lamination service with us, you typically won't need to be tested again. If you're unsure, just text us at (612) 513-6212 and we'll let you know.
-
Lash extensions add length, fullness, and drama and require fills every 2 to 3 weeks. A lash lift enhances and curls the lashes you already have with almost no upkeep for 6 to 8 weeks. If you want maximum impact, choose extensions. If you want a low-maintenance, natural boost, choose a lift. Your provider can help you decide based on your natural lashes and lifestyle.
BROWS
-
Brow lamination is a treatment that smooths and lifts your brow hairs into a fuller, fluffier, more uniform shape. It gives you that brushed-up, polished brow look without daily styling. Results last 6 to 8 weeks with proper care.
-
Brow lamination typically lasts 6 to 8 weeks, depending on your natural brow hair and how well you follow aftercare. Avoiding water and heat for the first 24 hours helps your results last.
-
Brow tint colors the brow hairs and lightly tints the skin, lasting about 4 to 6 weeks. Brow stain is a longer-lasting option that colors both the hair and the skin — the skin stain can last up to 10 days, creating a more defined, filled-in look. Your provider can help you choose based on the look you want.
-
Our Brow Transformation combines brow lamination, brow waxing, and brow tinting or staining into one complete service. It's the most thorough brow service we offer and gives you fully shaped, lifted, and defined brows in a single appointment.
-
Come with clean brows — no makeup. Avoid retinoids and exfoliating acids on the brow area for 24 to 48 hours before your appointment. If you're also getting lashes or a spray tan, schedule those around your brows as your provider recommends.
-
Avoid water and exercise for the first 24 hours and avoid heat for 48 hours. Skip makeup on the brow area for the first 24 hours. Use a brow conditioner or growth oil to keep the hairs healthy, and brush them into shape daily.
-
Brow waxing involves brief, very manageable discomfort that most clients barely notice. Brow lamination, tinting, and staining are not painful at all — they feel more like a relaxing skincare treatment.
SPRAY TANS
-
Shave or wax 24 to 48 hours before your appointment. Exfoliate about 24 hours before. On the day of your appointment, shower with water only — no lotion, deodorant, perfume, or makeup. Bring loose, dark clothing to wear home.
-
With proper aftercare, a Bare + Bronzed spray tan lasts about 10 days. Using our recommended body wash and moisturizer can help your tan fade evenly and last even longer.
-
A spray tan needs uninterrupted time to develop. We schedule all spray tans at the end of the day so you can go straight home, let the solution process, and rinse the next morning without disturbing it.
-
We offer 16 different spray tan solutions. Every spray tan is fully customized to your skin tone, undertone, the depth of color you want, and the occasion. Whether you want a subtle glow or a deep bronze, we'll mix the right formula for you.
-
Stay completely dry for at least 3 hours after your appointment. When you take your first shower, rinse with water only — no soap or scrubbing. After that, moisturize daily, avoid long hot showers, and stay away from chlorine and excessive sweating. Gentle, consistent moisturizing is the key to an even, long-lasting fade.
-
Yes. We bring spray tans to you, which is perfect for bridal parties, bachelorette weekends, and events. Mobile spray tans require a minimum number of people. Text us at (612) 513-6212 to plan your event.
-
Absolutely — spray tans are one of our most popular bridal services. We recommend scheduling your tan 1 to 2 days before your wedding, never the day of, so the color has time to settle. We'll match the formula to your dress and the look you want.
BRIDAL
-
Yes. We offer bridal packages that combine lash extensions, brow services, and spray tans, timed to your wedding day. We also offer bridal and bachelorette spray tan parties, in-studio or mobile. Text us at (612) 513-6212 or email hello@theloftofbeauty.com to plan your wedding timeline.
-
Timing matters, and we always recommend a trial of each service before your wedding so we can confirm the right outcome and make sure there are no reactions. Here is the timeline we recommend. For lashes: get your full set 2 to 3 weeks before the wedding, then a fill 2 days before. For brows: do a brow trial at least 6 weeks in advance, then your wedding brow service 2 days before. For spray tan: do a trial spray tan 2 to 3 weeks before, then your wedding spray tan 2 days before. On that appointment 2 days before the wedding, we do your services in this order: lashes first, then brows, then spray tan. When you book with us, we'll help you build your complete beauty timeline.
-
Yes. Our Delano studio's open-concept space is especially great for groups, and our mobile spray tan service can come to you. Book early — wedding season fills up fast.

OUR TRAINING & APPROACH
-
Every provider at The Loft of Beauty completes an apprenticeship of up to 9 months before serving clients at full price. The program includes 45 lash services, 15 brow services, and 10 spray tans — every technique practiced and mastered under supervision. We believe the brand is only as good as what happens in the chair, so we don't cut corners on training.
-
In Minnesota, a provider can be licensed to offer lash services after just 38 hours of training. Most cosmetology schools teach only classic lashes — volume technique and handmade fan fabrication, which make up the majority of what clients actually want, are not part of the standard curriculum. This is how lashes get damaged and how clients lose trust in the industry. Our apprenticeship exists to close that gap.
-
Yes. Every volume and mega volume fan used in our studios is made by hand by the technician applying it. We never use pre-made cluster lashes, which are heavier and far more likely to damage natural lashes. Handmade fans are lighter, safer, and longer-lasting.
-
Yes — gift cards are available in-studio, or by calling us at (612) 513-6212. They make a wonderful gift for the person who does it all.
-
Yes. We carry the lash care, brow care, and self-tan products we use and trust — including lash cleansers, brow growth oil, lamination gel, and Nuda self-tan products. You can shop in-studio or online at theloftofbeauty.com.
-
We keep a small, consistent, highly trained team, and many clients build relationships with their provider over years. Because every provider completes the same rigorous apprenticeship, you'll receive the same quality of work no matter who is in your chair. We schedule based on what works best for you.
